I just wanted to write to you and tell you that I watch your show on Showcase every Saturday night.  I think your show is by FAR one of the best reality television programs.  I'm a 36 year old single mommy and after my separation, I discovered that Saturday nights at home would be something to look forward to as long as Family Business is on TV.  I come from a conservative family and I even got my mom hooked on the show.

I think it's amazing how your work and home life are two separate entities, and you excel tremendously at both.

Dear Mr. Harper:

I would like to thank you for taking the time to read this letter of concern.

 

 

We as Canadians need to stop Alliance Atlantis from continuing to

destroy the minds of innocent Canadian children by exploiting them to

pornography on channel 39 (Showcase) on Friday and Saturday nights.

 

 

Thank you for taking time to read this letter.

 

I am disappointed to learn that Showcase (channel 39) aloud the program

entitled Family Business to air at 12am on Saturday October 20, 2006. 

I was appalled by the indecent material that was being shown on

television.

 

My two daughters one 9 the other 12, and my wife had just finished

watching "cheaper by the dozen 2" and were just spending some quality

family time and my nine year old daughter was flipping though the

channels and came across channel 39 which showed a fully erect male

penis going into a females mouth, I told my daughters to immediately go

to their room.  I am totally disgusted that Showcase would allow such

content to be aired on national television.  It is the weekend and kids

stay up late.  I understand that after 9pm television stations are

aloud to show nudity and there is v-chip technology that can prevent

children from stumbling upon this.  I am also aware that after every

commercial there is a warning of nudity.  However, when my daughter was

flipping she didn't see the warning as it was not a commercial.  I

strongly oppose to such impropriety.  The internet has enough problems

with pornography and bringing it on television is worse.  My television

does not have v-chip technology nor can our family afford such

technology at the current time.

 

I am sure your political party does not endorse this station's

disrespect for our community, our families, and our children.

 

I would appreciate, if it necessary to show nudity, please take the

decent time to blur or not show such pornography at all.

 

I respectfully request Alliance Atlantis to stop its airing of Showcase

until it stops offending common sensibilities in our community with

pornographic and offensive broadcasts.

 

 

I have attached three still's from the October 20, 2006 broadcast of

Family Business on channel 39.

Hey Adam,

 

My name is R V, I am in the Canadian Armed Forces and was

recently deployed to Afghanistan.  While In Afghanistan I was in an

accident and seriously injured, I had two operations, and was laid up

on my back in hospital for two months.  During these two months I

started regularly watching your program on Showcase.  I found that I

got to a point were i was excited for the weekend to come, sometimes i

would watch your show twice in one night. Not because the naked girls,

but because you guys make me laugh, especially Stevie that guy is a

real character(lets not lie the naked girls are amazing).  I've been

wathching your movies for years by the way, A++++ Job.  Well i just

wanted to say good job, and if you, Stevie, and the rest of the family

ever want to hang out sometime, my girlfriend and I would love to come down and meet you guys..

Hi Semore, I just watched your season one DVD and was a little disappointed, I feel like you discriminated from the big women. I worked at an adult video store for 2 years and noticed that there were many men renting and buying "over weight" women videos and DVDs. I'm a big fan of your show, all tho I really have'nt seen much of it since I live in Mexico and have only FX (the channel) and they have season 1 and prob. 2 but thats it, its also kinda imposible to get your movies around here (shiti small town)  we only have 2 sexshops with like the first vibrator ever, so you can imagine how fucked up its around here. Any how I just wanted to let you know, just like everybody else, that I think you're a great person and that you've helped me so much with my none-sex-life (no bf and not into ONS) so I just wanted to thank you for that and to let you know that if you ever need a location or just a place to hang on the other side of the border my doors will always be open for you.
